Global Game Jam, Winter 2024

This is the first project for Global Game Jam that I am fortunate to have had the privilege to collaborate on—and one of the first projects in which my adapability became one of my biggest boons going into the project! By the end of this game jam project’s development cycle, my team and I were nominated for Best in Georgia, and without having this project under my belt, I would have never been involved with the indie game development studio that I have been a part of since about a year ago—Inner Stitch Studio—which came about as a result of our hard work and willingness to tackle interesting and unique challenges such as this comically chaotic platform fighter! My roles on this project were of a diverse variety—as alluded to. When I was first brought on to the project during Global Game Jam, I did a handful of concept art sketches in addition to some initial user interface design concepts, but once we were tasked with making substantial updates to the game for our Best in Georgia demo, I took on my first ever extensive writing role for a collaborative project and helped write elements such as story beats and character and object descriptions.
